Challenging the School
The school as an institution has met with dissent from children, thinkers, teachers, poets and people across social and geographical cross sections. This is best illustrated in the classic story of the caged parrot by Rabindranath Tagore. Many others time and again have articulated strong negative sentiments against this institution in the form of poems, articles, quotes, testimonies etc. Tagore’s reasons for starting a school captures the sentiment succinctly.
