WHAT IS JIN SHIN DO?
“Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do Bodymind Acupressure classes teach the use of gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release “armoring” or chronic tension and to balance the “Qi” or energy. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress and trauma-related problems. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acu-theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory, and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy. It is recognized as a major form of Asian Bodywork Therapy around the world. Content of each class follows an internationally standardized curriculum. Originated by Iona Teeguarden, JSD promotes a pleasant trance-like state, in which one can relax and move out of the head and into the body, accessing feelings and inner wisdom.

What will you learn?
– Learn basic acu-theory

In addition, for study-materials, food and accommodation, we are asking each person to contribute Rs.1000. If you can give more than this, it will help to cover Doreen’s travel expenses and support the participation of other people. Scholarships are also available for those who need them. Money should never stand in the way of your participation. Please remember that we can always think together of other ways you can contribute to the gathering.
After the course – you will be given a certificate and reading materials for further practices.
Please let us know by October 15, 2011, if you would like to be a part of any of these 2 workshops. Please mention which location would be easy for you to reach. We can accommodate a maximum of 24 people (12 people in each workshop).
