Maximum no. of participants for each class – 12

You are invited to take the BASIC JIN SHIN DO training first time ever in India with a world class teacher, Doreen Bakstad. Doreen has been teaching this method since 1985, not only from her beautiful rural home in Vancouver Island, Canada, but also in the US, Mexico, Norway and Italy.

“Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do Bodymind Acupressure classes teach the use of gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release “armoring” or chronic tension and to balance the “Qi” or energy. This clothes-on method helps relieve stress and trauma-related problems. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acu-theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory, and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy. It is recognized as a major form of Asian Bodywork Therapy around the world. Content of each class follows an internationally standardized curriculum. Originated by Iona Teeguarden, JSD promotes a pleasant trance-like state, in which one can relax and move out of the head and into the body, accessing feelings and inner wisdom.

BASIC JIN SHIN DO Bodymind Acupressure class – 40 hours – 6 days

What will you learn?

– Learn basic acu-theory

– Learn to locate 55 main acu-points

– Learn simple verbal processing skills to deepen the recipients’ self-awareness and release of

emotional tension patterns

We are planning to organise more Jin Shin Do workshops for those who would like to continue learning this method of self-healing. Maximum 12 learners will be able to participate (from all who have participated in both 6 days Basic classes) in the next 3 workshops. These 3 classes could be decided at once or at 3 different times, depending on Doreen’s plan.

Following are the Jin Shin Do classes of the first Module, their optimum number of days to complete.

1. Basic Jin Shin Do – 40 hours – 6 days

2. Intermediate Jin Shin Do – 55 hours – 8 days

3. Advanced Jin Shin Do – 30 hours – 5 days

4. Bodymind Processing Skills – 25 hours – 4 days

More information of each class is available on Doreen’s website: www.jinshindo.com and on the foundation’s website: www.jinshindo.org .

As with other Swapathgami gatherings, these workshops will happen through participants’ own contributions. Each person is asked to cover their own travel to-from Mamoni or to-from Bajwada. In addition, for study-materials, food and accommodation, we are asking each person to contribute Rs.1000. If you can give more than this, it will help to cover Doreen’s travel expenses and support the participation of other people. Scholarships are also available for those who need them. Money should never stand in the way of your participation.  Please remember that we can always think together of other ways you can contribute to the gathering.

After the course – you will be given a certificate and reading materials for further practices.

Please let us know by October 15, 2011, if you would like to be a part of any of these 2 workshops. Please mention which location would be easy for you to reach. We can accommodate a maximum of 24 people (12 people in each workshop).
